Project Engineer (Electrical Bias) – Home Based (North & Scotland)
Business-need vehicle & travel expenses provided

Salary – up to £52,000 DOE

Are you an experienced electrical engineer ready to take on projects that really make a difference?

At Calor, we’re looking for a Project Engineer with an electrical bias to join our Engineering team. This is a home-based role covering the North and Scotland, with regular travel to sites. A company vehicle (for business use) and travel expenses will be provided.

This is a fantastic opportunity to use your expertise on projects that enhance safety, reliability, efficiency, productivity, and sustainability across our high-hazard operations. From supporting operations and customer projects to leading major capital investment programmes, no two days will be the same.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and deliver engineering projects, with a focus on electrical systems and installations.
  • Apply your specialist knowledge to solve real-world problems and improve performance.
  • Provide technical expertise and support across Operations, Sales, and Customer Engineering.
  • Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of new systems and equipment.
  • Ensure all projects comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and Calor specifications.
  • Manage contractors, consultants, and suppliers during project delivery.
  • Share your electrical expertise across the team, supporting knowledge growth.

What we’re looking for

  • HNC (minimum) in a relevant engineering discipline; working towards Chartered status desirable.
  • Strong background in electrical engineering with up-to-date knowledge of the 18th Edition Electrical Regulations.
  • Experience working on high-hazard process plants and knowledge of COMAH Regulations.
  • Familiarity with safety analysis techniques such as HAZOP and LOPA.
  • Proven project engineering/management skills, including cost control.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to set high standards, challenge ways of working, and drive improvement.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
