Site Inventory Controller
Location: Plymouth
Salary: £30,000
We’re looking for a dedicated and detail-focused Site Inventory Controller to join the Plymouth team. In this key role, you’ll take ownership of inventory management on site, controlling goods receiving and issuing processes, ensuring stock accuracy, and supporting efficient site operations.
Working closely with the Central Materials Planning Team, you’ll help ensure the right materials are in the right place at the right time, supporting both production and maintenance activities. This role is a great opportunity to play a hands-on part in driving operational excellence at one of Calor’s key locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain site inventory in line with Calor policies and procedures
- Ensure the stores facility is safe, organised, and fit for purpose
- Collaborate with Material Planners to align on stock levels and support strategic planning
- Raise purchase and stock transfer requisitions as required
- Process goods receipts and issues through the ERP system
- Investigate ERP-related issues and support production and maintenance teams
- Conduct regular stock checks and investigate any discrepancies
- Manage inventory for both stock and non-stock Non-Gas Materials
- Where relevant, ensure compliance with the Tank Movement Policy
- Drive continuous improvement in stores processes and layout
Skills & Experience:
- Experience managing stores inventory with an understanding of MRP processes
- Strong planning and organisational skills
- Able to work independently and prioritise effectively
- Comfortable giving clear instructions and setting high standards
- Confident building relationships across departments
- Proficient in IT systems and comfortable analysing data
- Able to identify root causes and improvement opportunities
